Upcoming Events for the Month:
·First Day of Club………………………………………..August 19
·Labor Day Holiday (No Club)……………………….September 2
Welcome back students and parents! We are looking forward to another great year at Boys and Girls Club! There will be many great programs that will be offered to the kids this year. We will have Power Hour which will give the kids a chance to work on their homework. KidzLit is a new program that will make reading fun for the kids. We will also offer an art program that will start in September. Field Trips will be taken as well. Permission forms must be signed in order for your child to attend. Torch Club will be provided to 5th graders. This program is designed to allow the 5th graders to participate in service projects that will contribute to the wellness of the community.
Family Plus and Volunteering
The Family Plus contract will require a family member to donate an hour of volunteer service to the club or school a week. This can be done by attending a school function or volunteering at the club. Donating supplies and items for service projects will also count towards your hour for the week. You can do your service weekly or do multiple hours a week to count for the month. If you cannot donate service or hours, a $10 donation will be required for your hour.
Club will run on all full days that school is in session. Our hours are 2:30-6:00 P.M. Remember to check your child’s homework each night when they get home. We offer time for each child to do their homework, but we do not guarantee that every child will finish their homework. We also have a large amount of students in each group. Our staff tries to provide help to each student, but one on one tutoring will be limited due to the amount of members that we have. Each child must attend club at least 3 days a week and must be signed out each day.
